Beautiful Camp Bagaduce isn't a camp, but a lovely and tastefully decorated house, offering a family friendly and comfortable guest experience. Tall windows overlooking the Bagaduce River and the cathedral ceiling complement the open floor plan. The well-appointed kitchen includes a full-sized gas stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. There is one king bedroom on the main floor as well as an easily-accessed roomy loft with three twin beds. The bathroom includes double sinks and a roomyshower. An automatic generator stands ready in case of a power outage.
The Bagaduce is a tidal river that empties into Penobscot Bay, and is one of the most productive estuaries in Maine. Camp Bagaduce looks over to historic Castine, and guests can see the State of Maine, the Maine Maritime Academy training ship when in port.
Sturdy, fairly steep steps lead down to the inviting gravel and rock beach. From the porch guests enjoy soothing breezes and sounds of eagles, osprey, great blue herons, and other waterfowl. Seals are often spotted.
Located off a quiet side road in Brooksville, Ferry Landing is a 10-minute walk down the quiet side road and is the start of Blue Hill Heritage Trust Ferry Landing Trail. Camp Bagaduce is about a 20 minute drive to Blue Hill, the town at the head of the peninsula with a full-service grocery store, large health food store, fitness center, hospital, library, bustling main street, unique shops and galleries, and a variety of restaurants. This property rents Saturday to Saturday from June through September.
PLEASE READ: The bank down to the beach is steep and children should always be monitored when outside. There are cottages on each side of the property that potentially could have owners there periodically. Dogs are welcomed but owner prefers that breeds over 60 pounds or potentiallyaggressive not be brought to the property.
