Located off quiet Cape Rosier Road in Harborside, a village in Brooksville, this antique log cabin provides the quintessential Maine experience. Built in 1912, Gull's View overlooks pretty and peaceful Smith Cove with views of the many islands and Castine in the distance. Enjoy rustic and comfortable living with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and living room with magnificent functioning stone fireplace. French doors open onto the large, wrap-around, screened-in porch. Enjoy meals in the dining room overlooking the cove, or on the porch at the "lobster table". The furnishings combine modern comfort without losing the cozy antique log cabin feel. Satellite TV and reliable DSL Wifi keep you connected while still being 'away from it all'. A heat pump provides cooling during hot weather as well as heat for the cooler fall season. The cabin has a queen bed and two single beds. Maximum occupancy is four people due to septic considerations.
Gull's View is minutes from historic Holbrook Island Sanctuary with its diverse ecosystem, where visitors enjoy walking and bicycling on its network of old roads and paths.
Things to note: Gull’s View has a steep, tall embankment down to the beach and is not be suitable for young children. Old granite steps are uneven in places, and access to the beach is down a steep set of newly built, sturdy stairs. The septic and water supply, as with other seasonal cabins and cottages, are not designed for heavy use. Parking for up to two passenger vehicles only is located by the main road and the lawn from parking to the entrance is on an incline. This property rents Saturday to Saturday from late June through mid October.

Direction from Bucksport:
Head East out of Bucksport on Hwy 3/Hwy 1. Take Rte. 15 South. Turn right off Route 15 onto Route 199 toward Penobscot. At Penobscot, turn left at the "T" and head south on Route 175. At the Gulf Station, turn right on Frank Flats Road. After crossing the bridge, turn right at the "T" on Route 176. From here either continue straight on Coastal Road or cut across on Varnumville Road. After you pass the Brooksville Town House, turn right off of Coastal Road on to Cape Rosier Road. Gull's View is the next cabin after Gull's Way (they look very similar) on the left side, about 3 minutes from the turn off onto Cape Rosier Road.
Directions from Ellsworth and Blue Hill:
Head West out of Ellsworth on Hwy 3/Hwy 1. After crossing the river turn left to head south on Route 172. Head straight through the towns of Surry and Blue Hill. In Blue Hill, Route 172 becomes Route 15. Route 15 will come to a "T", here you will turn right on Route 175/Bagaduce Road. Before the Gulf Station, turn left on Frank Flats Road. After crossing the bridge, turn right at the "T" on Route 176. From here either continue straight on Coastal Road or cut across on Varnumville Road. After you pass the Brooksville Town House, turn right off of Coastal Road on to Cape Rosier Road. Gull's View is the next cabin after Gull's Way (they look very similar) on the left side, about 3 minutes from the turn off onto Cape Rosier Road.

The remaining amount is to be paid 60 day(s) before arrival.

Cancellation Policy for all of our Rental Properties:
Cancellation requests must be provided in writing. The Cancellation Policy is strictly followed and we encourage renters to purchase trip insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.
If the Renter desires to cancel this reservation at any time prior to the arrival date, BHBPR will make reasonable efforts to find a replacement Renter for the same time period at comparable rental rates. If no replacement Renter is procured, the entire invoiced amount for the reservation will be due as scheduled, and all deposits paid shall be forfeited to BHBPR. If the reservation period is re-rented, BHBPR will credit the rental amount received to the Renter, less a $200 cancellation fee to cover BHBPR expenses.

The View
The view from the screened porch is mesmerizing. We had a wonderful week of weather and enjoyed our stay at Gulls View. The cabin was well equipped and very peaceful. The hosts were quick to reply to any questions and followed up at the beginning and the end of our stay.

We had a wonderful week in Smith Cove. The house was comfortable and the location was gorgeous. The hosts were extremely responsive and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. If the home had a small dock and allowed a small fire pit, we would never want to leave. Also, a perfect location for dogs and the home is very dog friendly. Overall great vacation.
