ZephFir House is a custom built (2023) house situated comfortably within the seaside woodlands of the idyllic Blue Hill Peninsula in coastal Maine. Just minutes from Blue Hill Bay, the town of Brooklin, and Deer Isle/Stonington, and about an hour from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, ZephFir House is designed with the intent of bringing the outside in. Constructed with a sense of place and a seamless footprint, guests at ZephFir House will enjoy the calmness of nature while being catered to by modern amenities that include high-end appliances, high speed internet/Wi-Fi, high efficiency AC and heating (including heated bathroom floors), vaulted ceilings, a dual temperature beverage fridge, front-loading washer/dryer, cozy sectional sofa, reading nook, and dining table that seats up to six. If you are planning your next getaway “Down East,” or are a first-time visitor, a stay at ZephFir House will provide the type of comfort and enjoyment only found in Maine.
*The name “ZephFir” is a play on the word zephyr, meaning gentle breeze. In this case, it’s adapted to describe the welcoming breeze from Blue Hill Bay that passes through the fir trees and cools the house on a warm summer day.
The Space
The house embraces the functional qualities of Scandinavian design while tipping a sailor’s cap to the charm of a New England summer cottage. With that in mind, neutral tones and minimal touches enhance the sightlines that link the vibrant woodland greens to the soothing blues of the ocean sky. While there are unique spaces throughout the house, all are outfitted to comfortably sustain guests for both short and extended stays. The house accommodates five to six guests and is equipped for relaxing, entertaining, and working remotely.
On the main floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and ensuite full bath, the other with a full bed adjacent to a full bath. Additionally, a spacious loft with a queen bed is located just above the living area and is accessible by a spiral staircase. Like the sleeping areas, the kitchen and living spaces are designed to enhance tranquility. The kitchen is stocked with all the necessary items to prepare meals. The appliances are new and include a beverage fridge, full fridge, oven, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms and main living area. When you visit, just drop your bags, turn on your automated email response (or take a Zoom call), and enjoy your stay.
For views, admire the evergreen and birch-dotted landscape, capture the luminescence of the starlit sky, and identify the many seafaring birds flying by from the oversized windows that extend from the ground floor to the ceiling. During certain moments in the season, you may even catch sights of Mount Desert Island from the loft.
Please note: There is an outside security camera that shows the driveway and parking area but not the house on the premises. The wood stove in the living area is not available for guests to use. Guests are welcomed to use the fire pit on the back lawn.

Perfect escape from the city! We loved our stay here. Communication with hosts was easy and the space was beautiful. Would return!
The house was beautiful and adorable. It was very clean and we felt right at home. It had everything we could have needed. We loved the big windows and natural lighting the space had to offer. Black out curtains made it easy to sleep. The bathroom floors were heated and wonderful. There were many games available to play. The space is pleasantly secluded behind a recreation field for ultimate privacy. Hosts were kind and checked in on us. I wish it was a tiny bit closer to Acadia because there isn’t a whole lot to do right around the house (at least in later fall, I’m sure summer is busier) but I would absolutely stay here again if we come back.
We had a wonderful stay at Zephfir House! The house is tucked away from the main road, so you feel completely private and surrounded by beautiful trees. It’s very quiet, with comfortable beds and a great central air system. We cooked throughout our stay, and the kitchen was perfect. There’s a Hannaford grocery store and the Blue Hill Co-op about a 15-minute drive from the house, which was very convenient. We were visiting Maine to explore Acadia National Park (about an hour away), but the town and nearby areas also offer beautiful nature, trails, ocean views, and plenty of activities. We used the fire pit one night and enjoyed the beautiful night sky full of stars. The house is modern, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. We enjoyed staying in the house just as much as exploring the Maine coastline. Communication with Chelsea and Breada was excellent!! They provided so much helpful information before our trip. I highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying here! We were here for three nights with another couple. Loved that it was secluded and quiet and out of the way. Loved the surrounding area and it was easy to drive to the grocery store and close restaurants. We hope to come back some day! Fire pit was nice to have at the end of day too!
Quiet and secluded but close to groceries, shops, restaurants and other amenities. The home is well appointed with a full kitchen and appliances. We stayed for three nights but could have easily stayed all week. Thanks very much for your hospitality!

We had a great time at Brenda & Chelsea's cozy home; we had everything we needed and especially loved sitting outside on the deck & by the fire pit!
Nice place, well equipped kitchen, clean, private location set back into the woods. Slightly hard to find from the street but once I found it the first time, it was a really nice benefit to have the house set back from the road. Very comfortable beds, nice outdoor space for the kids.
Lovely house - great space with lots of natural light and privacy in an incredible part of Maine. The local managers were super helpful and responsive. We loved it.
